Ferry crossing England to France
Dateline: 20 May 2011
Avid readers will know that I wasn't quite so well organised last year; I bought the ferry ticket on the day of travel and as a consequence, there were many subsequences.
Well research suggests (I love that phrase, you can cover a million suppositions with it) that the cheapest ferry UK to France this year is the same one as last year - Norfolk lines. But at £23 (plus fuel surcharge of £6 "fuel effing what?" ) it is a mere 300% more than last year.
So a tad over the rate of inflation. This year I increased my software development charges by 2.5% It was the first rise in 3 years. Still, no-one complained. Yet.
I haven't quite committed to the date of travel. The buy button has not been pressed. I almost pressed the buy for Thursday 27th. I remembered, a nanosecond before the click, that it was eldest daughters birthday celebration.
So I'm still in a state of stasis. To click or not to to click. Do they take John Lewis vouchers?
